AOK Ranch Bed & Barn

AOK Ranch is 10 acres located on the Withlacoochee State Forest in West Central Florida in Citrus County.  It is between Tampa and Orlando.  Driving time to Tampa and Orlando is 1 hour.   We are fortunate to have the forest at our back gate,  41,000 acres of beautiful riding.

This is the vacation place that provides a peaceful relaxing atmosphere to enjoy some of the best horse riding that Central Florida has to offer.  Your horse will appreciate the chance to get away from the life of a city horse.  We are the perfect getaway vacation or winter training facility.  Guests at AOK  may use the Southern Savvy Center horse facilities on the property

A 2 bedroom home sits on a 10 acre ranch next to the Withlacoochee State Forest.  The home is fully furnished and there are covered paddocks for the horses with a turnout area. RV parking with electric and water hook-up's are available.  Bookings are by the weekend, week or month.

See Huey in Acion

Liberty

by Anne on December 3, 2010 · 1 comment

Today was a quiet day with the horses, but I spent some time with Huey at liberty for something different. I have only had one other short liberty session in the round pen with him and was, as usual, pleasantly surprised at how willing Huey is to develop our partnership. I love that he is willing to stick with me and follow my body language in an open area. For me it means that there is really something special about doing Dressage, Naturally.

AOK Ranch Bed and Barn’s 10 acres are located next to the 41,000 acre Withlacoochee State Forest in West Central Florida’s Citrus County.  This area has been called one of the “Top Ten Coolest Places You’ve Never Seen” in North America.  It provides the perfect location to enjoy all that the west coast and central Florida has to offer.

The forest is noted for it’s wildlife – deer, fox, quail and hawks.  The variety of terrain is excellent for your horse both physically and mentally.  Ride for a few hours or pack a lunch and stay out for the day.  Trails are marked or just explore.  Maps are provided for each rider.

The 2 bedroom guest house is fully furnished.  The kitchen is ready for cooking and the beds are ready for guests.  There are four new covered paddocks with horse safe fencing and a top board.  A new turnout has been added for your horse’s pleasure.  You can also utilize the natural horsemanship facility on the premises known as the Southern Savvy Center.

We are nestled among 100 year old oaks with Spanish moss draping the branches.  There is a peaceful pond and a campfire site with plenty of wood just waiting for someone to light it up.  Just sit and watch the starry sky and ponder the awesome ride that day.
